One of my new years resolutions for 2015 was to start blogging better. I have a few plans in the back of my mind but I wanted to start with a new ‘Frankie’s Features’ post. Each month I am going to focus on ingredient that I am loving, and bring you the best looking recipes featuring that ingredient from around the web.
Ever since the start of December I have been knocking back strawberries like they are going out of season. I absolutely love them and could happily eat punnet after fresh punnet without doing a single thing to them. But, just occasionally, I like to change things up a bit and try something new.
I have scoured the web in search of the absolute best looking strawberry recipes, and I really struggled to pick my top 10, but after much deliberation, I think I have found my favourites. Most of them are gluten free, whole food recipes, which is what we are all used to around here, but there were a couple of others that I couldn’t resist sharing. Of course I will be tweaking these to make them gluten free, vegan and refined sugar free, so if you are interested in a particular recipe just let me know.
So, what am I going to be making over the next few weeks?
And last but most certainly not least, these Fresh Strawberry Cupcakes from Layers of Happiness, again with a few tweaks to make them gluten free and vegan, and using a fresh strawberry sauce instead of the buttercream (or you could always try a coconut buttercream frosting)Time to get cooking!
